Ahuroa

Ahuroa is a place in the Rodney District in New Zealand. In the southeast of the town is Puhoi, Warkworth in the north east and in the north are the Kaipara Flats. The North Auckland railway line passes through the area.

The North Auckland Line reached Ahuroa in 1905 from Kaukapakapa. It was created for the exploitation of existing forests here. Because the town had a railway station, it was decided in the late 1920s, the road between Ahuroa Glorit and on the west coast was to be fixed with gravel.

Today the place is, however, no longer connected to the network of highways, the highway runs next to the Highway 16 in the 10km distant Glorit. The school is a co-educational in Ahuroa for grades 1-8 with a decile rating of 7 and 25 students (01/2009).

Ahititi is a small town in the Taranaki region in New Zealand. State Highway 3 runs through the town. Mokau is located 23km to the north, 26km southwest of Mimi and Kotare 16km to the east.

The Tongaporutu River flows to the northeast past Ahititi and flows about 5km northwest at Tongaporutu in the North Taranaki Bight. The name means in the language of the Maori “cooking fire” (ahi) for “storm birds” (titi).
